Days of Architecture have been the largest and most anticipated architectural festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina for many years and one of the most important in this part of Europe.
This year they take place from 15 to 22 September, and unlike previous years, the Days of Architecture will last seven days in several locations around Sarajevo.
The opening of the jubilee, fifteenth edition of the Days of Architecture will take place on Friday, September 15, where this year's curators Hubert Klumpner (Austria) and Michael Walczak (Poland) will officially present the theme, lecturers and program of the festival to the audience. During the festival, architects and lecturers from Spain, Norway, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Croatia, Montenegro, Austria, France and Italy will take turns on the main stage of the Meeting point cinema. In addition to lectures by renowned architects from around the world, this year's Architecture Days will feature numerous exhibitions, panels, professional meetings and films, which will undoubtedly attract audiences from Sarajevo and the entire region.
The central theme of this year's edition of Architecture Days is Olympic architecture, where lecturers and guests will explore the legacy of building and planning for the needs of the Olympic Games around the world, with an emphasis on the commemoration of forty years since the Olympic Games in Sarajevo next year.
This year, the Meeting point cinema will be the focal point of the lecturers and the audience, and the rest of the festival will take place all over Sarajevo, at the following locations: History Museum, Olympic Museum, Art Gallery, Manifesto Gallery, Urban Design Studio and Austrian House.
Special attention during the Days of Architecture will be devoted to the presentation and publication of the first architectural guide to Sarajevo, published by the Berlin publishing house DOM Publishers. With this, Sarajevo also joins the cities on the architectural map of the world and presents the architecture of the city to both visitors and citizens in a completely new way.
