MICROCLIMATES, MICROCOSMS

Microclimates and microcosms are words that express with a high level of precision the work that we try to do from our office. They help us transmit our belief that Architecture can only flourish within the complex and imbricate overlapping of all scales, from the micro of each material and its combinations to the macro of climate and the universe.

In this exhibition we are showing for the first time some documents that we have specially elaborated to explain these ideas: maps and drawings that seek to register and describe every tangible and intangible component that we find at the root of each project, or the ones with capacity to configure its integral development. Our ambition is to bring to this interior in Ljubljana the wide diversity of elements and factors that we pursue to convoke in each space.

Ramon Bosch and Bet Capdeferro are graduate architects from Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB). Bet Capdeferro also attended the Masters in Landscape Architecture from the Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya. In 2003 they founded the office bosch.capdeferro arquitectures in their hometown of Girona and since then have worked in projects of different scales and typologies, mainly focused on the relationship between mankind and environment. They conceive the project as a concave and inclusive experience, capable of harmoniously integrating through an open process all diverse agents and facts that configure it. Their professional activity has progressed in parallel to teaching at several universities as Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona - UPC BarcelonaTech, ETH - Zürich, Escola Politècnica Superior - Universitat de Girona and Cornell University - New York, supporting from the fields of theory and research the development of design and construction processes. In 2011 they received the EMERGING ARCHITECT SPECIAL MENTION of the EUROPEAN UNION PRIZE FOR CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE - MIES VAN DER ROHE AWARD. In 2015 their work was awarded with the FAD AWARD, and in 2016 they were recognized with the SPANISH ARCHITECTURE BIENNIAL and the IBERO-AMERICAN ARCHITECTURE AND URBANISM BIENNIAL AWARDS. Their work has been exhibited in the 2012 and 2016 editions of the VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE.
