On Monday, 7 November at 7 p.m., we kindly invite you to DESSA gallery to the opening of the exhibition Piranesi 30: 30 Years of Piranesi Magazine.
Upon the 30th anniversary of the publication of the architectural magazine Piranesi, the Editorial Board, along with the publication of the jubilee issue, prepared an overview exhibition where we can learn that the magazine has its origins in the Piran Days of Architecture, which has been taking place every year, for 39 years in a row now, in Piran. The core mission of this, the first Central European architectural magazine for spatial culture, has always been to highlight high-quality older and contemporary architectural production from the region: from Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.
Robert Potokar, architect and editor-in-chief of the magazine, will present the history of Piranesi magazine and its links to Central Europe, Ljubljana, Piran, and the Piran Days of Architecture with the Piranesi Award, as well as the importance of the magazine in general, whose latest issue highlights, as the main theme, the work of the Austrian architect Günther Domenig and his Steinhaus (Stone House).
The exhibition will be on display until November 17, 2022.
The lecture by architect Robert Potokar, editor-in-chief of Piranesi Magazine, will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 6 p.m. in Plečnik‘s lecture hall at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana.
