The Architect Jože Plečnik Foundation, the Association of Architects of Ljubljana and the DESSA Gallery announce the ceremony of Plečnik's awards for 2021, which will take place on Monday, June 7, at 6 pm in the garden of Plečnik's house in Ljubljana at Karunova ulica 4-6.
Attention! Due to current measures, the number of people at the event is limited. Entry will be possible only by invitation.The event will be recorded.
The exhibition of awarded and nominated works for Plečnik's medals 2021 will be on view from 7th June in the open-air gallery on Gallusov nabrežje along the Ljubljanica.
A more detailed exhibition of the project, which was awarded this year's Plečnik Award, will be on view from June 9 at the DESSA Gallery, Židovska steza 4, where a lecture by the awarded authors will take place on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 7 p.m. A printed catalog with all this year's awarded projects will also be published at the exhibition.
Traditionally, the names of the recipients of Plečnik's awards are NOT published before the award ceremony! They will be announced on 7th June 2021 on the website http://drustvo-dal.si/.

Plečnik's awards was made possible by members and donors of the Jože Plečnik Fund of the Architecture, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Slovenia and the City of Ljubljana.
Plečnik's awards are the highest professional recognition for achievements in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism and interior design in Slovenia. According to the expert jury, the Foundation of Architect Jože Plečnik annually awards Slovenian authors three types of awards for selected works created in the last five years. The central and most important medal is the Plečnik Award. The Plečnik Medal is awarded for cultural realization or work in the field of architectural theory, criticism and professional journalism, or for contribution to the enrichment of architectural culture. The incentive for quality work is recognized in the Student Award.

DESSA gallery is an Advisory Committee Member, which presents the most important European awards for architecture, the EUmiesAwards.
The private institute DESSA architectural center has the status of a non-governmental organization that works in the public interest in the field of culture (Ministry of Culture) and in the field of spatial planning (Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning).
The interior of Gallery DESSA at Židovska steza 4 in Ljubljana, designed by architect Boris Podrecca in 1988, has been declared a cultural monument of local importance in March 25, 2024.
